The white sides help regulate the internal temperature of the home, while the green roof brings a touch of color to it. Each crescent shaped entry hole allows martins passage into the shelter, while preventing starlings from overtaking the home. An integrated nest cup on the base of each compartment helps martins place their eggs safely and centrally, while the textured plastic offers a secure grip. Porches beneath each entrance create takeoff and landing spots for the birds, and the extended floors on each unit add even more vantage points. Rain canopies above the entries protect the units from the elements, as do the overhang and gutters on the dark green, pitched roof. Each panel, accommodating the entries, lifts upward for nest checks and maintenance, and snaps into place with tabs on the black base.
