1960S Vintage Mid-Century Rug Pink And Green Transitional Floral Pattern 23579
Hand knotted in wool originating from Turkey circa 1960-1960, this item is a vintage rug with a mid-century sensibility suspected to remark the works of celebrated Turkish icon Zeki Muren, who favored the European sensibilities and open border like that of this pink and green selection like that of his contemporary work. The detail and loving craftsmanship in the floral motifs brings out the forgiving pink hues with a skillful juxtaposition to the richer red, bright blue, and complementary green colorway in such a fashion that invited the eye to appreciate its sense of movement and grace; lent a natural sense of depth amid the wide border believed to be a hallmark of Muren’s more domestic work. Connoisseurs will note the pile height has been purposefully refined to a lower height similar to the appeal of a Kilim or flat weave, and designers will similarly note the charming look of shabby chic in the distress (consistent with the age of this mid-century rug and ultimately complementary to its collectible nature).
Rug & Kilim allows for a 3-day in-home rug trial for you to test the rug in your space before making a final decision. Return shipping is not included.
