This creates a hardy tube, and the included, 23.5″ long, plastic ground socket keeps the item sturdy and straight in your yard. The eight included, 20″ long rods slide through the predrilled holes on the top sections of the pole, and rubber washers hold them in place. Hang one of your existing martin gourds (not included) on the end of each rod, and keep them in place with the included hitch pin and cap. The slightly offset angle of each hole creates a spiral effect when the gourds are attached, and a plastic cap covers the top of the pole to protect it from rain.
